STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION WORKSHOP FOR DRAFTING THE SET OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT SET (DISTRICT LEVEL) BASED ON THE COMMUNITY SURVEY

Today, March 24, the Danang Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research (Institute) in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) organized a stakeholder consultation workshop for the drafting of “The set of indicators for assessing environmental protection and management (at district level) based on community surveys”.

 

 

The event was attended by more than 30 delegates from agencies and units of the city; representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the districts of Da Nang city; Union of Science and Technology Associations. Danang; Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company; Da Nang Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company; Green Viet Water Biodiversity Conservation Center and online guests: Ministry of Science and Technology; Representative of Vietnam Environment Administration, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) and members of the VIWACON network.

The event aimed to consult with stakeholders for the outlines of (i) A set of indicators for environmental protection and management (district level) based on community surveys”, (( ii) Community survey questionnaire based on a set of indicators.

The workshop was co-chaired by Mr. Huynh Huy Hoa - Director of Danang Institute of Socio-Economic Development and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ha - Deputy Director of Environmental Protection Sub-Department, Department of Natural Resources and Environment. After the presentation from the Institute, the contents of the Index and the Questionnaire were contributed by delegates from state management agencies, community organizations, businesses, and experts. related to the environment. The necessary suggestions  highly professional, and practical with local realities as the basis for the Institute to continue to improve the Index.

 

 

 

 

The initiative to build a set of indicators is one of the components of the Project "Collective Actions for Water Conservation" jointly implemented by the Center for Community Environment Research (CECR) in Da Nang city within the framework of the project.
