In Vietnam, an estimated 3.1 million tons of plastic waste are dumped on land every year. At least 10% of the mismanaged waste leaks into waterways. The amount of leakage could double by 2030 under a business-as-usual scenario. In its National Action Plan on Marine Plastic Waste Management by 2030, Vietnam aims to reduce marine plastic waste by 50% by 2025 and 75% by 2030. However, the fight against plastic waste has never been easy. So what should Vietnam do? What solutions need to be put forward to solve the current plastic waste problem?
This will be the topic of the Policy Dialogue program “Reducing Plastic Waste – The Role of the Community”. We would like to respectfully introduce 2 guests who will accompany with the program:
