On April 22, 2023, at the Hall of Danang University of Science and Technology (No. 54 Nguyen Luong Bang, Hoa Khanh Bac, Lien Chieu, Da Nang), the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (TNMT) of Da Nang city in collaboration with the Center for Environmental and Community Research (CECR), the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology – Hanoi University of Science and Technology (INEST), and Danang University of Science and Technology – organized the Final Round of The Contest ” ‘Innovative ideas for smart water use’ and ‘Sharing the circular model of water reuse at enterprises’ “, within the framework of the project “Collective Actions for Water Conservation” (CAWACON) organized by the Authority Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The program aims to raise awareness and change behavior about water reuse and smart water use in communities and businesses; at the same time, creating a playground that provides opportunities for students to exchange ideas and initiatives with businesses, thereby, looking for opportunities to develop ideas and job opportunities.

Attending the Program were representatives of city leaders including: Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Director of CECR Center; representatives of 02 universities (Hanoi University of Technology and Danang University of Technology); and especially the presence of more than 50 students from 09 teams from universities that entered the Final Round Contest.

09 teams presented their ideas and initiatives in front of the Competition Jury Council. As a result, the “HPTYT” team won the first prize with the contest “Technology for reuse of wastewater after treatment combined with creating landscapes at Homestays”; The second prize belonged to 02 teams: “Blue Sun” with the idea of “Application of adaptive infrastructure solutions to treatment of salinity in the estuary area of Da Nang city” and team “PWG” with the idea of “Filter mini watershed”; 02 Third prizes belong to the team: “Water supply and drainage group course 18 – Danang University of Science and Technology” with the idea of “Smart water use at Danang University of Science and Technology” and the competition team “MT-Super” with the idea of “Recycling cycle” water use for Pullman Danang Resort”; Consolation prizes for the remaining teams include: “KOB VICTORY”, “Clean Environment Creation, A130 team” and “Green treatment”.
