PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM IN THE ENVIRONMENT FIELD IN DA NANG CITY

On September 21, 2022, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment presided over and coordinated with the Center for Environment and Community Research to organize the “Training program on project management skills in the environment field in Da Nang city” at Brilliant Hotel, 162 Bach Dang, Da Nang city. This is an activity within the framework of the project “Collective Actions for Water Conservation” sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to strengthen international cooperation in the environment field, contributing to the development of the effective implementation of the Project “Building Da Nang – An Environment City” for the period of 2021 – 2030 according to Decision No. 1099/QD-UBND dated April 2, 2021, of the People’s Committee of Da Nang city.

The program was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ha, Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Agency; with two lecturers, Dr. Nguyen Khac Hung, CEO of the Center for Environment and Community Research and Dr. Ngo Huy Liem, Advisor of VIWACON. In addition, there was the attendance of more than 50 representatives of civil servants and officials in charge of and consulting on the environment field; relevant departments, agencies, People’s Committees of districts, associations, and mass organizations; offices and units under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.  

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ha – Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment) emphasized: “We hope that the training program will contribute to improving professional work, strengthening the connection between agencies in the city in performing environmental management tasks; at the same time, provide practical support and help students in building and developing projects, then implementing the project, and then in the process of monitoring the effectiveness of the environmental project that the sponsor paid attention to in the area of Da Nang”.

The training program helped trainees equip themselves with knowledge and skills to build, organize, manage, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of supporting projects in the environment field in the city; how to manage communication and connect parties in project implementation; thereby enhancing the roles and responsibilities of relevant agencies and units in the implementation of international cooperation, contributing to the effective implementation of the Project.
