In order to enhance water knowledge through games, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) recently launched the mini game "The Clean Water Warriors".

The project "Collective Action for Water Conservation" (abbreviated name: CAWACON), supported by USAID Local Work in Vietnam aims at supporting the network of Vietnamese non-governmental organizations (NGOs), businesses, research institutes, VIWACON associations as well as individuals interested in the conservation and protection of surface water. Over the next three years, this project focuses on raising awareness and promoting behavioral changes about water pollution and health.

Within the framework of CAWACON, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) implemented a communication campaign in various forms to raise public awareness about the situation of polluting and wasting water, thereby mobilizing the community's cooperation in conserving Vietnam's water resources.

The communication campaign was designed by CECR into two major segments: one is a survey of community awareness on water pollution and water conservation, deployed from April 16 to May 31 and the other is a mini game called "The Clean Water Warriors", with a target of guiding players through water topics using fun short games, eye-catching visuals, creative content and one other small segment including environmental information. This campaign is mainly implemented on Facebook.

Since its launch, the campaign has achieved numerous positive results. The survey on community awareness about water pollution and water conservation is conducted online with a variety of question forms such as multiple choices, short answers, self - assessment questions. Although the survey is still open until May 31, it has initially received feedbacks from a large number of people interested in the environment topics, thereby temporarily assessing the current awareness level of the community. This is a valuable resource for research, document compilation and orientation of CECR’s future activities. This survey is still open 24/7 at the link:https://forms.office.com/r/q2HvNwmAng . Please participate in the survey for an opportunity to receive gifts from the organizers.

On the mini game front, “The Clean Water Warriors” attracts enthusiastic participation from the public regardless of age, occupation and geographical location. The series of mini games takes place for 5 weeks from April 20 to May 29. Every week, the organizers post the question sheet on the official Facebook fan page of the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) at the link https://www.facebook.com/cecr.vn  . Participants have a week to answer questions and choose their lucky numbers. At the end of each week, the winners are the ones with the correct answers and whose personal lucky number matches the lucky number selected by the organizers. The mini game “The Clean Water Warriors” is already half way through with the third consecutive week of kicking off. However, its heat has not subsided, but on the contrary, the next week the number of interactive participants is higher than the previous week. With beautiful gifts given to the winners, the organizers believe that the communication campaign is directly inspiring, spreading passion and love for the environment to the community.

Sharing of a player when receiving the gift: "Receiving a gift from CECR's mini game made me super excited. Through this game, I have the opportunity to learn and recall the knowledge about the flow of water that I have learned so it is possible to understand more about the water sources around us and take measures to reduce water pollution. By using the bottle awarded by CECR, I can reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles, which will contribute to reducing environmental waste. I will also call on my friends to participate in CECR's games to gain more knowledge as well as supporting environmental protection."

A communication campaign that is deployed and received great attention from the community is not only a joy for the organizers but also a clear proof of a belief and enthusiasm for environment and green planet protection that is increasingly spreading. This is a positive sign for environmental issues in Vietnam in particular and the world in general.
