On December 12, 2022, in Hanoi, the Deputies Working Committee – Standing Committee of the National Assembly in collaboration with the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a conference on The Amended Law on Water Resources in 2012 – Some highlighted policies”. The conference was organized within the framework of the Collective Action for Water Conservation (CAWACON) project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The conference was moderated by the leader of the Deputies Working Committee – the National Assembly Standing Committee and attended by 50 delegates who are the 15th National Assembly deputies of the National Assembly’s Science, Technology, and Environment Committee, Legal Committee…, as well as delegates of the People’s Council of Hanoi city and some other cities; representatives of the Department of Water Resources Management, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, social science organizations, research institutes of Vietnam and environmental experts.
The conference provided and updated the elected delegates with information and knowledge on water resources and the policy contents proposed in the Amended Draft Law on Water Resources in order to support the National Assembly deputies to make effective contributions/suggestions to the Draft Law on Water Resources 2012 (amended) at the meeting agenda of the National Assembly in 2023. At the same time, the conference is a forum for National Assembly deputies, People’s Council representatives, representatives of ministries, branches, and experts to exchange and discuss related issues.
